Business Analysts for the AIS Operations and Development group of American Councils for International Education are enthusiastic, solutions-oriented professionals, who put clients at the center of their work. For this role, we seek a candidate who can visualize the full user experience and formulate ideas about how “AIS” can improve. “AIS” is American Councils’ proprietary, web-based participant management system that supports a user’s experience from a program application to alumni activities.

What You Will Do

You will look after a portfolio of American Councils program clients. Your primary role will be to digitize and automate the program participant lifecycle via AIS. You will design, build, and operate online forms for American Councils’ programs.

You will assist the department manager with conceptualizing new uses and features for AIS, and then crafting detailed instructions and workflows of those ideas for the AIS software development contractor, who will translate them into programming code. 

Forms Development Responsibilities 60%

  • Build and maintain online program application, recommendation, evaluation, and other web forms using the AIS Forms tool
  • Integrate paper forms and offline processes into AIS
  • Coordinate online forms testing by staff
  • Troubleshoot and fix live form issues quickly and efficiently
  • Track and communicate project timeframes, status, and issues
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of protected health and personally identifiable information
  • Review and test each AIS feature release for completeness and usability; replicate and articulate bug reports for the AIS software development contractor

Applicant Process Analysis Responsibilities 20%

  • Translate program requirements into well-designed data and document collection, distribution, and storage solutions
  • Administer application, evaluation, selection, and registration processes in AIS
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure solutions are optimally designed for their respective audiences and meet programs’ needs

Other Operational Tasks and Responsibilities 20%

  • Assist program staff with mass communications to applicants, recommenders, and others via AIS
  • Provide program staff with data, reports, and documents they need from AIS to administer programs
  • Provide AIS training and operational support for AIS staff, program staff, partner organizations, and others
  • Troubleshoot user issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve the applicability and usability of AIS
  • Participate in and encourage a collegial, helpful, results-driven working environment
